Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about the game. He routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not allow the detrimental comments from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

Phil started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying passion for poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is very humble about his success. He admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Even though Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a normal basis.
