Web poker has become world celebrated lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling 21 than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the dealer rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or other kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the croupier saying "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other gamblers attain 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s first card, you have to either make a call bet or bow out. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original wager, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantaneously to the casino. After the bet comes the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, including an amount equal to the original wager. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The dealer pony’s up chips equal to your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
