Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the western in a fantastic game for early level gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the house, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers compete with other players. By gambling against the dealer, starting players do not need to be concerned about any other, more skillful people winning their moolla.

An additional Pai Gow edge is the generally slow game play, rookies should be able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make hasty decisions.

It’s also simpler to play for a long time with basically a tiny amount of money after all, to lose, both of your hands needs to be under each of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is given 7 cards face up and the dealer gets seven cards faces hidden.

A five card hand and a two card hand have to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
