Double-hand Poker is a cutting-edge game with ancient origins. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the wild west in a great game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the dealer, not like most other poker games that gamblers compete against other players. By competing against the dealer, beginning players do not need to worry about any other, more advanced gamblers winning their cash.

One more Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, novices should be able to take their time and strategize while not having to make frenzied decisions.

It is also easier to play for an extended time with only a small bit of money seeing as, to lose, each of your hands must be lower than both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the dealer is dealt seven cards face down.

A five card hand and a 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
