Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the final poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest enthusiasts around the world. While competing in internet poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He often competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then goes all in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I think tv can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes omaha hi-low and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in cash rounds?
