Poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers attain five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s first card, you have to in turn make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning wager, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the bank. After the wager is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, including a sum on par with the original bet. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The dealer pony’s up money even with your ante and controlled expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
