Internet poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many variations on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the house rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players attain five cards each. After you have observed your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning ante, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the bank. After the wager comes the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with an amount equal to the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pays out money even with your bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
