Do you ever acquire that itch? The itch to gamble, to head to the closest gambling house, to come across a good stakes game of Holdem, to sit at a Twenty-one table for hours on end. I love that itch. And I love to scratch it.

I also love to watch men and women wager. No 2 poker faces seem alike. When I bet I like to feel I put on a poker face that’s impenetrable. But I know I’ve particular gestures. For one, the only time I smoke cigarettes is when I play poker or Black-jack. And then I smoke. Except I smoke no matter whether I am succeeding or losing, regardless of whether I have a excellent hand or bad.

I once played inside a weekly poker game. The game was often five card draw. There was a man who wagered with us each week who constantly wore a hat. When he was given a great hand, subconsciously, he would begin touching and playing with his hat. Needless to say, he by no means won.

The greatest poker gambler I ever saw was a guy who made a lot more actions and gestures at a poker table than anyone I had ever met. He was flawless in the way he dressed. Usually an high priced suit and tie, shoes shined and nails trimmed. He was diligent in this manner. And he was usually brushing his pants or holding his hands or stacking his chips in tidy little piles.

I use to examine him for long periods of time. I would tried to see if I could notice his tell. Selecting lint off his shirt- did this mean he was bluffing? Arranging his chips in a short pile – did this mean he had a good hand?

Years later I bumped into him within a bar in Chicago and we had a drink. I asked him if he have been aware of all those movements he created or if they were subconscious. He informed me that just about every single thing he did at a poker table was deliberate. He said that everybody is usually checking out everybody else’s poker face. They are trying to spot the the tell.

So his method was to give them lots to feel about. His thinking was if they have been thinking about him selecting a piece of lint off his shirt and what it meant they sure weren’t thinking about their cards.

His process was diversion. And it worked for him. In no way give up a system that functions for you.
