For a match where most gamblers rarely consider fortune, there are lots of superstitions in poker. When you say that an individual was blessed in that poker tournament they won, be mindful of how you say it. For instance, if you say that you were unfortunate, your fortune may not change.

Ok, that may sound a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game armed with superstitions. Did you know that if you’re betting a game with 2 different decks and you are asked to choose the deck, you should always select the deck that’s the furthest away from you? Or, what If you get a run of poor cards, you have to hang out on a hankerchief to destroy your horrible luck? It is certainly thought of as good luck to blow through a pack of cards while they’re being shuffled.

A few other interesting poker superstitions are:

  • You will be able to change the run of cards by walking around your chair 3 times.
  • The luckiest position at the poker table looks at the door.
  • The worst spot has its rear to a fireplace.
  • When altering chairs, you really should always do so clockwise.
  • The unluckiest poker card is the four of clubs.
  • It is most unlucky to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Mon is a bad day for wagering on cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a horrible day, no matter when it falls during the week.
